Dr. Grace Thornton

Dr. Grace Thornton grew up in Ontario, and received her BScH. in Wildlife Biology and Conservation from the University of Guelph in 2017. After publishing several research projects on wildlife disease, Grace moved to Ireland to study Veterinary Medicine. In Dublin, she learned all about rugby, the correct way to pour Guinness, hiked many mountains and enjoyed brisk morning swims in the sea, before graduating from the University College Dublin with her MVB in 2022.

Grace enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, problem solving cases with her clients and using evidence-based medicine to understand and treat the root cause of the issue.

In addition to companion animals, Grace enjoys livestock medicine, including poultry and honeybee cases.

In her spare time, Grace loves all outdoor pursuits, especially kayaking, portaging, hiking, camping, skiing, and swimming, and is very excited for all Vancouver Island has to offer. Come the winter, she is a prolific sock knitter and reader.
