Growing up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, surrounded by nature, Dr. Nate Bachynski developed a deep passion for animals and the outdoors. After earning a Zoology degree from the University of Guelph, he was accepted into the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016. His first exposure to Vancouver Island came during an externship in Comox, where he worked with both small and large animals (particularly cows). Dr. Nate’s love for wildlife also led him to volunteer in South Africa, providing veterinary care for dogs in remote communities and assisting with wildlife efforts.
After completing a rotating internship at the Atlantic Veterinary College, Dr. Nate transitioned to general practice, where his focus is on building strong relationships with pet owners and creating personalized care plans. He is Fear Free Certified and has a special interest in small animal internal medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
Outside of veterinary care, Dr. Nate enjoys running, hiking, camping, birdwatching, and playing/talking sports (hockey, football, golf, and volleyball). Dr. Nate has played in bands and used music to raise funds for a variety of charities. He continues to stay creative through music and poetry.
